Web Committee
From its inception, the Web Committee has been contributing to this site, discovering issues to resolve while also providing ideas, designs, content and direction. The Committee membership has included (past and present) Andy, Anita, Barbara, Bob, Diane, Jean, and Stephanie. During the four years prior to 2008, Katy was our web master updating and maintaining the web site content. In October 2009, the Web Commitee, Intergroup Board and the Intergroup Office designed and developed the new schedule layout for the printed meeting schedule. District Representatives, Group Representatives and ISR's have also provided valuable input. The printed schedule is generated from this web site, and we are developing the pages to provide a similar layout on the site. The schedule is available in our Office Bookstore.
Board Members
Today, as before, our volunteer Intergroup Board Members and Information Service Representatives provide oversight, ideas, suggestions, and support, recently including Board Chair and President Carolynn and Orville, and past Board Chairs Ricky and Tina.
Office
Office staff and volunteers (then and now), including Alice, Connie, Diane, Lonnee, Mary, Pat A., and Pat B., provide(d) Announcements, updates for the Bookstore, Meeting Schedule changes, Event Notices, Service Opportunities list, Al-Anews (web and print editions), and more. The word 'we' is in 'web,' and together we are providing the Houston Al-Anon/Alateen web site.
Suggestions? Want To Participate?
If you have ideas or suggestions, would like to serve on the Web Committee, or would like to provide content or technical work (see below), please email the Web Coordinator. Web Committee membership has these three requirements:
- Must be a member of Al-Anon;
- Must not be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (see "Digest of Al-Anon and Alateen Policies," Dual Membership in Al-Anon/Alateen and A.A.);
- Desire to practice Al-Anon's Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, Twelve Concepts and General Warranties.
Survey Results
In June 2009, we conducted a short online survey that ran for 30 days. Everyone's input was appreciated, and we thank you for the constructive feedback. For the question "What improvements would you suggest?" multiple responses were allowed:
- 22% - "Easier Navigation"
- 14% - "Simpler Layout"
- 11% - "More Information"
- 11% - "More Graphics"
- 6% - "More Professional Look"
- 3% - "Less Information"

Member Site
The Al-Anon HQ Member Site (WSO) has plenty of good information for the Al-Anon/Alateen member. Just log-in with your group name and include "AFG" at the end. It's that easy! You'll get access to recent and past World Service Conference Summaries, The Forum articles, the current Service Manual, Inside Al-Anon, and more!
